David J. Dean serves as a senior trial partner at the firm. He handles complex and challenging
litigation cases such as medical malpractice, products liability, labor law and other challenging plaintiff’s
personal injury related claims.
Throughout his career, he has led numerous high-profile cases. Mr. Dean was the Chief Trial
Counsel for the plaintiffs in the Agent Orange Class Action and represented more than two million
Vietnam Veterans in their claims against seven chemical companies. His work received recognition
through published Federal Court decisions as “extraordinary” and of “exceptional quality.” Mr. Dean also
demonstrated his unparalleled trial skills at the civil trial of 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center. As
the lead trial attorney of the case, he obtained an unprecedented verdict against the Port Authority for its
failure to take steps to prevent the terrorist attack.
Some of his other notable winnings include a $92 million dollar judgment against the City of New
York for using excessive police force, a verdict against the Transit Authority for $28.5 million for a
woman who sustained a severe leg injury after getting struck by a train, $25 million for a laborer injured
at a worksite, and $24.5 million for a man who tripped on the stairs of an apartment building causing him
to become a paraplegic.
Over the years he has obtained scores of multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements.
As an expert, Mr. Dean has often lectured at various law schools and bar associations on all
